Editorial
Corrections Policy
Credence Wire corrects errors openly. This page describes how we handle fixes, clarifications, and continuing-story updates.
Last updated: July 12, 2026
Our commitment
Accuracy is a core editorial obligation. When we publish an error, we correct it promptly and transparently. Corrections apply to factual mistakes, misleading context, incorrect attributions, and significant omissions discovered after publication.
Types of updates
We distinguish between three kinds of post-publication changes:
- Corrections fix factual errors. Material corrections receive a visible note at the top of the article.
- Clarifications add context without changing the underlying facts.
- Updates reflect new developments on a continuing story and are labeled with a timestamp.
How to request a correction
Email submit@credencewire.com with the article URL, the passage in question, and supporting documentation such as official filings, court records, or on-the-record statements.
Editors review correction requests within one business day when possible. Complex claims may require additional verification.
What readers see
Material corrections include a dated editor's note explaining what changed. Minor typographical fixes may be made silently when they do not affect meaning.
When an entire premise of a story is wrong, we may unpublish or substantially rewrite the piece with a clear explanation.

Social and syndication
When a correction is material, we update headlines and social posts where feasible and notify syndication partners who republished the story.
